&lt;p&gt;My &lt;strong&gt;theoretical work&lt;/strong&gt; is somewhere in the frontiers of statistical signal processing, Bayesian analysis, statistical learning, computational and robust statistics.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Some applications&lt;/strong&gt; : mainly interested in the broad field of localisation, tracking and navigation (GNSS, indoor, cooperative, robust, multiple object, multi-sensor data fusion), but also communications, intelligent transportation systems, air traffic management and Earth observation (GNSS remote sensing).&lt;/p&gt;

Before joining ISAE-SUPAERO in 2018, he had a brief spell in the Fans Aeromechanics team at Rolls-Royce as an aeroelasticity specialist, focussing on fan vibration due to intake flow unsteadiness.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;His research interest is in the field of stability and transition of flows, and the effect on the performance of Unmanned and Micro Aerial Systems, potentially operating in the heterogeneous urban environment. The unifying theme of his research is complementary experimental and low order modelling for the development of reliable prediction and design tools. Amongst other activities, he is also working on bio-inspired fluid mechanics for aerodynamic shapes optimisation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He looks after the Applied Aerodynamics module, 2MAE200 and intervenes in the viscous aerodynamics part of the Fundamentals of Aerodynamics module, 1MAE103 of the Master in Aerospace Engineering course at ISAE-SUPAERO.&lt;/p&gt;

Since 2019, he is Associate Professor at ISAE/SUPAERO. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The micro-vibrations are the most detrimental problem for the high accuracy pointing performances of the future Science and Earth observation Space missions. Reaction wheels are generally the main source of micro-vibrations. Also other components, such as solar Array Drive Mechanism (SADM), antenna stepper motors, antenna trimming mechanism or chemical thrusters, can have a huge impact.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The degradations of the pointing performances are induced by the interaction between the excitation frequency of the perturbation source and the structural flexible modes of the spacecraft. These perturbations are generally of harmonic nature, i.e. they generate simultaneously several sinusoidal forces and/or torques with frequencies proportional to the fundamental frequency (e.g. the wheel rate).&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
There exist many ways to counteract the micro-vibrations but they are often impractical or present huge drawbacks : adapt the SADM rate profiles to avoid the excitation of structural modes (drawback : uncertainties on spacecraft modes), switch off the wheels during the mission phase (drawback : loss of the AOCS spacecraft control), etc. Passive isolators collocated with the source of micro-vibrations can efficiently filter the perturbations at high frequencies (typically &gt; 100 Hz), but they introduce supplementary flexible modes in the middle frequencies (typically between 1 Hz and 100 Hz).&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
Active control solutions can then provide the suited level of micro-vibrations mitigation. The common practice is to employ a Cold Gas Micro Propulsion system that, however, involves considerable costs and weight.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The goal of the thesis is to propose an alternative active control system by meeting both the desired high pointing performances and the cost- mass/volume constraints.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The research activities have been driven towards both theoretical modelling of the micro-vibrations sources and validation of a robust control system for micro-vibrations on an experimental bench (in ESTEC AOCS/GNC laboratories). From the theoretical point of view the dynamics of the spacecraft and the sources of perturbations have been described thanks to new contributions to the Two-Input Two-Output Port Theory.&lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The same perturbations have then been used to feed the experimental bench for their active robust control : a system of piezoelectric Fast Steering Mirrors (FSM) coupled with high-bandwidth sensors has been conceived and validated in order to achieve the desired performances up to 100 Hz.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The main idea of the project concerns electromechanical de-icing systems based on resonant actuators which should provide some significant advantages over existing solutions : reduce consumption, use only electrical power source, be compatible with any structures (metallic or composite).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The concept is based on the activation of resonant actuators (piezoelectric actuators e.g.) to create shear stresses at the substrate/ice interface to promote adhesive fractures or tensile stress to generate cohesive fractures. The objectives of our work is to understand the initiation and propagation of cohesive fractures in the ice and adhesive fractures at the interface ice/support, to give a methodology for computing voltages and currents of a piezoelectric de-icing system to initiate fractures, and to propose general design rules to favor propagation of fractures.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Some tests to validate our methodology have been performed in the iCORE icing wind tunnel of Airbus Central R&amp;T in Munich. The video shows tests performed on a leading edge covered of glaze ice and excited at 22kHz, 25 kHz and 35kHz with different voltages to study the initiation and the propagation of fractures. The video also shows some results with a plater covered by a icephobic coating.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The options to improve the aircraft overall efficiency are manifold, ranging from distributed electric propulsion to an entirely new airframe design. The adoption of alternative power sources also promises vast possibilities in terms of synergetic propulsive integration. Moving away from the conventional tube-wing configurations will require a significant revamp of the evaluation methods and new means of calculations have to be investigated to improve their portability to new airframe designs. The integration of all these methods and tools into a streamlined evaluation platform represent a key milestone for an efficient multi-disciplinary optimization. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The objective of the work is to set-up a multidisciplinary design process that will identify the most promising solution for a regional aircraft in terms of airframe/propulsion layout and hybrid electric architecture.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;New aircraft concepts that can contribute to the decarbonization of aviation and to the proposal of more flexible urban mobility are currently arousing great interest from aeronautical aircraft manufacturers and equipment manufacturers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The first part of this project focuses on the multi-criteria and multi-stage assessment of the environmental impact of new aircraft through a Life Cycle Analysis of the airframe and main aircraft systems. The studied airplanes will be category CS23 (4-10 passengers) to regional (20-40 passengers).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The second study consists in the development of a tool called CAST (Climate and Aviation - Sustainable Trajectories) used to generate trajectories for aviation that are compatible with the Paris climate agreements. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The objective of this thesis is to explore and assess jointly the effect of different control strategies for these multivariable systems and of the propulsion chain and flight control system specifications on a set of criteria. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
The control strategies will be designed for improving robustness to failures and the safety of VTOL while meeting handling qualities and aircraft performance constraints.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Hysteresis is a phenomenon in which the value of a physical property lags behind changes in the effect causing it. Hysteresis is detrimental since it limits the system performances.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Overcoming the influence of the hysteresis on performances of aircraft systems is an arduous task because of significant variations of hysteresis characteristics with operating conditions (altitude, flow, pressure and temperature) and dispersions of system components characteristics. Another issue comes from the availability of sensors that do not always give a direct measure of the hysteresis influence. &lt;br class='autobr' /&gt;
This work tackles the issue of the control of high amplitude hysteresis phenomena in aircraft systems as well as the robustness assessment on system performances.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My main research topic is about studying the neural bases of executive functioning, applied to both healthy and injured brains. I'm expert in different techniques of brain imaging and psychophysiological measurements (EEG, NIRS, eye tracking, ECG) as well as non-invasive brain stimulation (tRNS). My work extend from airplane pilots to brain injured patients (Traumatic brain injuries and vascular disease) to improve cognitive performance with neurotraining, whether to recover from lesion or improve flight safety.&lt;/p&gt;
