Olivier Besson

Olivier Besson received the PhD degree in signal processing in 1992 and the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches in 1998, both from INP Toulouse. From October 1993 to September 2007 he was a professor of signal processing with the Department of Avionics and Systems of ENSICA, and from October 2007 to December 2016 with the Department of Electronics, Optronics and Signal of ISAE-SUPAERO. As of January 2017 he serves as head of the PhD program office at ISAE-SUPAERO.

Dr. Besson has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions Signal Processing and the IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and Handling Editor for Signal Processing. He served as a member of the Sensor Array and Multichannel technical committee (SAM TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Dr. Besson has held visiting positions at Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, and Università del Salento, Lecce, Italy. He is the author or co-author of about 110 peer-reviewed journal papers, and the co-recipient of the Eurasip Best Paper Award (with P. Stoica) and the IEE Clarke-Griffiths Premium Award (with F. Galtier). His research intererests include adaptive array processing, detection, estimation, multivariate analysis and radar processing.
